At your regular eye check-up, your doctor will want to test your eyes for glaucoma, a disease that causes the presssure in your eyes to become so high that it damages your optic nerve and causes a loss in vision permanently. So how will they test you for glaucoma? You know the answer, you just don't know you know.

The second leading cause of blindness worldwide, behind cataracts (see our post about Cataract Awareness Month), is glaucoma. The threat of the disease lies in the fact that people with the disease rarely experience symptoms before they experience a loss in vision. And once vision is lost due to glaucoma, it cannot be restored.
