CANCELATIONS AND NO SHOW FEE
If you need to cancel and/or reschedule your appointment, be sure to call us at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. If you are unable to speak to a member of our team, leave a detailed voicemail.
Effective February 1, 2026, appointments that are missed will be subject to a $50 no-show fee. This fee is not covered by insurance and is the patient’s responsibility. Repeated no-shows or late cancellations may result in additional fees or limited scheduling availability.
LATE ARRIVALS
If you are unable to make your scheduled appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so that we may offer the time to another patient. If you are more than 20 minutes late to your scheduled appointment, we will make every effort to work you back into the physician’s schedule. However, we may have no choice but to reschedule your appointment. We thank you for your understanding.
REFRACTIONS
A refraction is an essential part of the eye examination. It is conducted to measure the eye’s refractive error. If you decline to have a refraction, we will not be able to prescribe glasses, and we may not be able to determine the cause of changes in your vision. It is also necessary to prove to your insurance company that cataract surgery is medically necessary. Most insurers, however, including Medicare, classify refraction as a “Non-Covered” service and do not pay; they require us to charge you for this service. Our office policy is to collect $45 for refractions, and payment is due before the service is performed. This is in addition to any co-pay, deductible or other non-covered service charge you may have. Your glasses prescription is valid for one year after the day the measurement is performed. The fee is payable whether or not you receive a written glasses prescription. The fee covers the technician and/or physician’s time in administering the refraction.

The AI is HIPPA compliant and is not used to give medical advice or diagnose a patient. You always have the option to be transferred to a real person.
