She also partnered with the American Heart Association and Diabetes America to create Public service Announcement and Flash Mob Dance Videos around Heart Health, Diabetes, and how it relates to the eye.

Dr. Martén is a leader for her community in numerous ways. She volunteers her time to be an on-call emergency eye care doctor for the Rampage hockey players. She also recently went on a mission trip, where she performed 60 cataract procedures in Costa Rica with a team.
